Vehicles are connected with the world of internet of the things (IoT), which enables us to use new functions within the vehicle. However, to be usable in the mobility world, the vehicle systems must face several tough challenges in security and privacy.
Important points for vehicle industries
- Protection of vehicle systems or functions from the damage to or theft of their hardware, software, or electronic data, as well as from the disruption or misdirection of the services they provide (Cyber Security, e.g. ISO21434).
- Protection of personal data against illegal (unauthorized by user) collecting, processing, storing, and moving (Privacy, e.g. EU-GDPR (2016/2018)).
Systems Engineering is an interdisciplinary approach to develop systems which are mostly complex. For CES this means the transformation of idea into vehicles.
Increasing complexity drives a the need for reliable functional safety management (FSM) in order to avoid or at least detect and mitigate malfunctions which would lead to any person being injured or killed.
