Urban Air Mobility (UAM) or Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) is by no means science fiction or pure fantasy. The principle is simple and consists in the further development of the helicopter. It is quite realistic that these new developments could soon be used, for example, in the context of rescue transports, aid deliveries or the like. For several years now, the aviation industry has been constantly changing towards new and innovative transport concepts. Currently, many electric air vehicles are being developed for urban air mobility. One focus here is on the further development of air cabs that take off and land vertically, so called eVTOLs. The advantages of an eVTOL are obvious: they consist of a reduction in noise emissions of up to 80% compared to a helicopter, they can take off and land vertically in the city in a relatively small area, they are both safer and, above all, they are sustainable.
For Continental Engineering Services, this development offers numerous opportunities, as we have high end proven aeronautic capabilities. We adapt our technical solutions from the automotive industry for comfort and environmental detection to Urban Air Mobility.
