Sunroof Module (SRM)

Sunroof Module (SRM)

Have you ever imagined cruising down the road, feeling the warm sun on your face and the wind in your hair, all while enjoying the comfort and convenience of a sunroof? Find out how we can offer you all this with our Sunroof Module.

The Power Behind the Sunroof

At its core, the SRM is a standalone electronic unit specifically designed to function as a motor driver for foldable roofs with up to two motors. With its intelligent motor control capabilities, the SRM ensures smooth and precise operation of your sunroof, allowing you to effortlessly open or close it with ease.

Uncompromising Safety and Security

Safety is of paramount importance, and the SRM doesn’t disappoint. Equipped with proven Anti-Pinch technology, it guarantees protection against accidental entrapment, giving you peace of mind during every sunroof operation. Additionally, the SRM incorporates state-of-the-art functional safety and cyber security features, providing a robust and secure solution for your vehicle.

Tailored to Meet Your Needs

The SRM is not a one-size-fits-all solution. Its architecture allows for the implementation of customer-specific features, ensuring that it can be customized to meet your individual requirements. Whether you desire a specific user interface or need to integrate it into a unique system architecture, the SRM offers flexibility and adaptability to accommodate your needs.

Hardware and Software Excellence

The SRM’s hardware is designed to meet both current and future needs, making it highly adaptable and future-proof. Featuring a Traveo II microcontroller, 2x Full Bridge DC Motor Driver, CAN-FD and LIN interfaces, and a range of digital and analog inputs, the SRM provides the necessary components to drive your sunroof with precision and efficiency.

On the software side, the SRM leverages the power of AUTOSAR, a leading automotive software architecture, to ensure seamless integration and efficient motor positioning via Hall Sensors. The SRM also offers diagnostic services, thermal motor protection, and configurable features to support various user interfaces and system architectures.

Safety First, Security Always

Functional safety is a priority in the design of the SRM. Compliant up to ASIL-B, the hardware design ensures a high level of safety integrity. In terms of cyber security, the Cypress Traveo II microcontroller supports state-of-the-art security mechanisms, including enhanced Secure Hardware Extension (eSHE) and Hardware Security Module (HSM).

Continental Engineering Services also offers additional cyber security features like secure boot, secure diagnostics access, and JTAG locking, depending on your specific requirements.

When it comes to the mechanical design, the SRM doesn’t compromise on durability and protection. Housed in a clipped plastic enclosure with a sandwiched PCB, it offers robustness and reliability. With an IP5k2 Protection class and a wide temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, the SRM is built to withstand even the harshest environmental conditions.
