Our Auburn Hills, MI location is seeking a software engineer to support embedded software development for various in-vehicle automotive electronics within the Continental portfolio.


Your tasks


  • Responsible to support the software development team
  • Provide support to application teams for identification of root cause for issues and corrective action plans
  • Develops software and tools in support of design, infrastructure, and technology platforms, including operating systems, compilers, utilities related tools
  • Creation of software modules for various Automotive Products
  • Debug & Problem solving for issues at all stages of product development
  • Responsible to support for development of new products, and changes to existing products
  • Can work independently or/and within a team environment
  • Must be willing to travel (approx. 10%) supporting internal and customer development trips
  • Support in-vehicle and bench testing


  • Creation and analysis of software requirements
  • Development & Maintenance of architecture and detailed software designs
  • Support aspects of production processes for software development
  • Assistance with other tasks as needed and determined by Management


Your Profile


  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
    2-5 years of experience in software development; including internships
  • Proficient in C-programming
  • Understanding of 8 – 32-bit microprocessors
  • Basic/Good debugging skills
  • Experience in using development tools like Davinci Developer, configurator, Geny and EB Tresos, Canoe, CAPL Scripting, etc.
  • Experience in AUTOSAR architecture and Configuration Tool chain, and development of AUTOSAR Compliant Communication services, Memory services, and System services stack, MCAL device drivers etc.
  • Knowledge and Experience in Quality Processes like Functional Safety, Automotive Spice (ASPICE)
  • Good communication skills with internal & external customers
  • Must be willing to travel (approx. 10%) supporting internal and customer development trips
  • Legal Authorization to work in the US is required. We will only sponsor internal
  • Continental employees for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening.

  • 5-7 years of experience in software development in the automotive industry and Master degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering preferred.
  • Knowledge in Ethernet and CAN technologies
  • Experience in Automotive Electronics
  • Low level microcontroller development
  • Knowledge of real time operating systems
