Continental Engineering Services (CES) is seeking a Software Test Engineer to support exciting products for traditional OEMs, start-ups, power sports and high-end electrical vehicles with software & system engineering activities for the CES DAAD (Driver Assistance & Automated Driving) Segment at Our Auburn Hills, MI location.

Your tasks

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The development and testing of software products delivered by CES such as radars, cameras and lidars.
  • Embedded software development, implementation and testing for 8,16- and 32-bit microcontrollers
  • Development of active safety features such as Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Cross Traffic Alert, etc.
  • Review of requirements and analysis for implementation
  • Root cause analysis, issue tracking, corrective action plans and debugging reported customer problems.
  • Software development for prototype demo builds, electric vehicles and DAAD products.
  • Work with various communication protocols like CAN, LIN, I2C, SPI and UART
  • Assistance with other tasks as needed and determined by Management

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Development of new products and changes to existing products for automotive and non-automotive markets such as Motorcycles, Drones, Semi Trucks, Electric Vehicles, etc.
  • Provide support to application team for identification of root cause for issues and corrective action plans
  • The ideal candidate is disciplined, and can work independently and within a team environment
  • Ensure all aspects of production processes for software and calibration programming are properly verified and validated.

Your Profile

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in: Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  • Experience in software development; including internships
  • Proficient in C-programming
  • Understanding of 8 – 32-bit microprocessors
  • Basic/Good debugging skills
  • Basic understanding of electrical schematics
  • Understanding of Automotive Electronic/Electromechanical Products.
  • Good communication skills with internal & external customers
  • Must be willing to travel (approx 10%) supporting internal and customer development trips
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2 years of experience in software development and degree preferred.
