Continental Engineering Services (CES) has announced a landmark integration of its cutting-edge “Motorsports ABS Kit” into the Bugatti Bolide – a 1,600-horsepower hypercar made exclusively for the track. While CES’s Motorsports ABS technology has been used across motorsport vehicles, this is the first time it has been applied to a car of this caliber and iconic status, enhancing the Bolide’s performance and handling to new heights.
Precision Control for an Iconic Hypercar
The integration of the Motorsports ABS Kit brings precise anti-lock braking (ABS), electronic stability control (ESC), and traction control to the Bolide, making this high-powered vehicle easier to control even for less experienced drivers. With five customizable driving modes, the ABS and ESC allow drivers to adjust vehicle dynamics based on the track, weather, and tire conditions – empowering racers to maximize performance safely, regardless of their skill level.
“We’re extremely proud that we were able to push boundaries with Bugatti in this extraordinary project,” shares Volker van Lier, head of CES’s Chassis & Brake Systems. “Developing brake control technology for a hypercar is an exclusive discipline in which CES has a great deal of experience. Making a racing car controllable not just for professional motorsport racers, but for all drivers, was a particularly interesting challenge for us.”
Continental Engineering Services and Bugatti have collaborated on innovations for many years. For the Bolide, CES adapted the Motorsports ABS Kit specifically to handle the vehicle’s exceptional power and performance, offering a level of stability and braking precision rarely seen in hypercars. With this integration, the Bolide’s braking system meets the needs of professional racers while maintaining safety for all enthusiasts.
The integration of CES’s Motorsports ABS Kit into the Bugatti Bolide marks an exciting chapter in hypercar development, demonstrating the potential for advanced control systems to enhance the capabilities of iconic vehicles.
