Connectivity Functions

Holistic Connectivity enables new functions and services in the car and beyond by integrating mobile and non-mobile living spaces.

The digitization of mobility is in full swing and makes driving more efficient, safer, and more comfortable. In the beginning, “digitization in the car” was called the connection of smart devices and the introduction of online services through various apps in the car. In the meantime, the boundaries between mobile and traditional living spaces have become blurring due to the ever-increasing networking of all components. Individual settings, profiles, and thousands of other pieces of information are transferred to the vehicle in a split second.

Steadily increasing digitization and networking enable the use of new data sources for intelligent management of traffic on roads. Vehicles in front can immediately pass on information about critical traffic situations before they lead to a dangerous situations for subsequent drivers. Infrastructure data can also be utilized for additional security and convenience.

In summary, holistic connectivity connects vehicles in a variety of ways: drivers, other vehicles, mobile devices, the Internet, and the infrastructure are a system that consists of interconnected hardware and software components and thus enables an infinite number of new services.

The above image illustrates how many devices may interact both inside and outside of a vehicle to provide holistic connectivity.

Continental Engineering Services is not only able to develop and deliver the individual components and services as illustrated but can act as your consultant as you create your connectivity architecture or big data application. Benefit from our technical expertise and experience in the field of software development, embedded systems, client-server structures, cloud applications, and IT security.

With the rising level of connectivity and an increasing number of interfaces in vehicles and machines, cybersecurity is becoming more and more critical. That is why we use the highest security standards in our connectivity solutions at Continental Engineering Services, which not only fulfill the future standards and regulations but go well beyond.

Our connectivity products facilitate, control, and optimize complex information flow between humans, machines, and the Internet of Things. We achieve this through ultra-modern transmission technologies, which are particularly suitable for safety-relevant applications of automated driving thanks to their strong performance. In addition to lower latency, higher range, and increased reliability, they also facilitate connection to cloud services.
